Optional browsing measurements
Browsing measurements are off until you enable them in “Help improve NEA Nights” at the bottom of a page. Your choice applies to this browser tab. When enabled, we record public page visits, visible event cards, event detail views, ticket and calendar link clicks, and newsletter link clicks.
We use a random identifier that changes each day. We keep only a broad referral source such as Facebook, Instagram, newsletter or search. We do not store names, email addresses, raw search terms, full referring URLs, advertising identifiers or precise location in these measurements. The event’s town describes the event, not where you live.
Nearby browsing and maps
If you choose a city or ZIP code, we use its approximate area to sort events within each date. The choice is saved only in this browser tab and can be cleared on the Shows page. It is not added to audience measurements or your account. The lookup runs on our own server against public reference data. No outside geocoder receives your search.
Embedded maps load only when you choose Show location map and connect to OpenStreetMap. Driving directions open Google Maps, where that provider’s privacy policy applies. If you choose Estimate drive times, the selected city or ZIP center and approximate event destinations are sent through our server to the OSRM routing service operated by FOSSGIS. These area-to-area route estimates are cached for one day, with deletion requested after two days. They are not associated with your account or audience measurements. The routing provider may retain request logs. Read its privacy information. Estimates do not include live traffic.
Your feedback
You can voluntarily send Interested or Not for me feedback on an event, including a reason such as price, time or location. Sending feedback does not turn on browsing measurements. Clear my answer removes that event answer for the current tab and day. Feedback is not a ticket purchase or attendance confirmation.
How it is used
Private staff reports show aggregate interest and concerns to help choose coverage. Low activity is not proof that people dislike an event. Location feedback is a preference, not a finding that a venue or neighborhood is unsafe. The initial scoring system informs staff. It does not change public event ordering.
Storage and controls
Measurements are stored in our private records. They expire after 120 days, and removal can take a little longer. Short-lived collection limits expire after two days. Your browser’s Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control preference disables collection. You can turn browsing measurements off at any time below. Web hosting may separately keep security and request logs.
